Renewable Energy

Policies on Renewable Energy

Transition must be sustainable

I believe that the development of renewable energy is a vital element for the future of our citizens and toward the protection of our environment.

A $53M Hydrogen plant is to be built in Wodonga. The main piece of the plant will be a 10-mega-watt electrolyser that will produce renewable, carbon-free hydrogen by using wind farm electricity to split water into hydrogen and pure oxygen. This blend will then be delivered to more than 40,000 existing natural gas customers across the Albury-Wodonga region.

That is of course, if you built your new home prior to 1 January 2024, when all new builds in Victoria were banned from installing gas connections – makes you question the current governments direction when it comes to the development of renewable energy.
