In an outrageous and authoritarian move, Andrews has rammed through a vote to suspend the sitting of the Victorian Parliament indefinitely.
Labor MPs ambushed the Liberal Nationals and other parties by suspending Parliament this morning without warning or consultation.
The Victorian Parliament was next due to meet on May 5 to consider the State Budget but will now not sit again until a time yet to be determined by Labor Members of Parliament.
Other Parliaments, including the Federal Parliament, are continuing to sit after the Government and the Opposition through co-operation and consultation have agreed on reduced attendances to Parliament.
Comments attributable to Shadow Special Minister of State, Kim Wells:
“This is yet another example of the arrogance of the Andrews Labor Government.
“Labor has buggered the budget, they’ve decimated our health system and now they are hiding from scrutiny by shutting down the Parliament.”
