Teachers failing basic literacy & numeracy

Revelations that 1 in 10 graduate teachers are failing to pass a basic literacy and numeracy test are deeply concerning for parents and the educational outcomes of Victorian students.

Despite claims from Daniel Andrews that he would make Victoria the “Education State”, academic results of Victorian students, particularly in regional Victoria, continue to decline.

How can parents expect their children’s results to improve if graduate teachers are seeking tutoring to pass basic literacy and numeracy tests?
