The Andrews Labor Government has failed to adequately prepare for the first Code Red declared since 2010.
Daniel Andrews has known about how dangerous the impending fire season has been forecast to be but has failed to act.
The Andrews Labor Government has already admitted that many of the firefighting air fleet will not be ready for the start of the fire season and there will be no Sky Cranes available to fight fires if they start in Victoria today.
Despite Daniel Andrews saying on 12 November this year:
“We know there is a lot of fuel load out there. We know we’re going to have a long, hot, dry and dangerous summer, we’re going to have a very challenging season.”
Daniel Andrews has failed in his duty to ensure that all necessary action has been taken to prepare for what lies ahead this fire season.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Brad Battin:
“The Andrews Labor Government has failed to prepare for this fire season.
“For weeks the Government has advertised to local communities to prepare for an early and dangerous fire season, yet it has failed to prepare to keep Victorians safe.
“The CFA Annual Report shows that Daniel Andrews is 5000 volunteers short of his own target for this year.”
