A Liberal Nationals Government will help Victoria’s community organisations cut their skyrocketing power bills through a $4 million Community Solar Grants Program.
Today at the Brady Road Kindergarten in Bentleigh, Shadow Minister for Renewables, David Southwick MP and Liberal Candidate for Bentleigh, Asher Judah, joined City of Glen Eira Mayor Cr Jamie Hyams, to announce the Liberal Nationals’ latest cost of living measure.
Under the Liberal Nationals Community Solar Program, community groups such as sporting clubs, scout halls, hospitals and kindergartens will be eligible to receive grants of up to $40,000 on a dollar-for-dollar matched basis.
Local Councils will also be eligible to apply and jointly fund solar projects on council property – helping to reduce municipal energy bills and easing rate pressures on local residents.
The Brady Road Kindergarten will receive a $9,500 grant under the program to fund a brand new solar electricity system.
This policy comes on back of the Liberal Nationals recently announced plan to install solar and batteries for 100% of suitable Victorian Public Schools by 2025. Only a Matthew Guy Government will get renewables and ease cost of living pressures for all Victorians.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Renewables, David Southwick:
“Only a Liberal Nationals Government will get renewables right and support our sporting clubs, hospitals, kindergartens and community buildings to cut their power bills.
“Renewables are the future and we are committed to supporting solar projects that make sense and can deliver benefits to the entire community.”
