WHILE Labor seeks to destroy the businesses of our bus operators, the Liberal Nationals will back them and the service they provide to our community.
Liberal Leader Matthew Guy today opened the 2018 BusVic Maintenance Conference and Trade Show pledging to back bus operators under attack from Daniel Andrews and Labor.
Earlier this year, Daniel Andrews attempted to effectively nationalise bus operators during contract negotiations with terms requiring them to hand over their assets and livelihood to the government.
Matthew Guy today pledged that a Liberal Nationals government he leads will never try to forcibly acquire bus operators’ assets as part of contract negotiations.
In addition to this the Liberal Nationals will seek to work collaboratively with the industry towards establishing a memorandum of understanding to prevent future governments ambushing bus operators.
Daniel Andrews has tried once to forcibly acquire assets and the only way to stop him from trying again is to elect a Liberal Nationals Government in November.
Comments attributable to Leader of the Opposition, Matthew Guy:
“I will back our bus operators and the essential service they provide to our community.
“We need to work with the bus industry in a constructive manner so we can get the best outcomes for the community.”
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Public Transport, David Davis:
“Daniel Andrews is deceitful and sneaky when it comes to the bus industry and seeks to nationalise them and take their assets and livelihood.
“You simply cannot trust Daniel Andrews, he tried to forcibly take bus operators’ assets once and he will do it again.
“There’s a clear choice at the next election between Labor who will seek to destroy bus operators, or the Liberal Nationals who will back them.”
