THE Australian’s Newspoll result published yesterday makes it clear that Victorians are not buying Daniel Andrews’ spin when it comes to the true cost of his ideological war on coal power stations, says Shadow Minister for Energy and Resources David Southwick.
The number of electricity customers who say they do not want to pay more on their power bills for renewable energy has risen to 49 per cent, up from 45 per cent in February.
Attributable to Shadow Minister for Energy and Resources, David Southwick:
Daniel Andrews forced closure of Hazelwood and his ideological obsession with renewable energy is pushing electricity costs through the roof.
Victoria now has some of the most expensive electricity costs in the world which is putting enormous pressure on cost of living and small businesses.
Households and businesses are paying record high power prices, leaving Victorians cold in winter and putting their jobs at risk.
Daniel Andrews is spending more than $250 million of taxpayers’ money to shutdown coal power stations that will force Victorians to pay even more for electricity.
A Liberal Nationals Government will scrap this unrealistic target so Victorians don’t have repeated blackouts and higher electricity prices.
