Shadow Minister for Public Transport, David Hodgett
For over two years Daniel Andrews and Jacinta Allan have allowed the regulation of ride-sharing to drag on which has caused massive uncertainty for taxi drivers, Uber drivers and consumers.
Taxi license holders, taxi drivers and Uber drivers just want to plan for the future with confidence and not have this continual uncertainty hanging over them.
After two years of inaction, the best this divisive government has come up with is a new tax on all Uber and taxi passengers. This is lazy policy making by a divisive premier.
Today’s protest could have been avoided if Daniel Andrews and Jacinta Allan would meet with the taxi and ride-sharing industries and give them the certainty and confidence they need to plan for their futures.
