Shadow Minister for Education, Nick Wakeling
Today’s Productivity Commission Report on Government Services shows that despite additional funding going into the education system, student results are going backwards.
Rather than directing funding towards student literacy and numeracy, the Andrews Government has increased its consultancy spending by 105 percent.
It has also spent education dollars on growing the education bureaucracy by 8.5%, which is more than twice the rate it has hired teachers.
This all comes on top of Daniel Andrews’ prioritisation of an additional $1.2 million of taxpayers’ dollars for the radical sexuality and gender theory “Safe Schools” program.
The education system is still reeling from the $240 million cost blow-out on the failed school Ultranet system, which was championed by Daniel Andrews and colleagues when last in government.
Quotes attributable to Shadow Minister for Education Nick Wakeling
“Literacy and numeracy standards are declining because the Andrews Government is more interested in bureaucracy jobs for its mates and radical social engineering than student outcomes.”
“Daniel Andrews needs to stop pushing his divisive social agendas and get back to basic literacy and numeracy in our schools.”
