Racing Victoria Board

Shadow Minister for Racing, Tim Bull

The Liberal Nationals Coalition will closely examine any proposed changes to the Racing Victoria Board structure and look forward to seeing the details of the intended reform, particularly the appointment process for Board members.
It is important that any future board structure maintains a strong industry knowledge base.
Having a higher level of independence should not merely be a euphemism for a board entirely composed of political appointments by the Minister.
Development of reform proposals should be done in close consultation with the industry.
The Liberal Nationals know how important the racing industry is to Victoria and will closely examine any proposed changes to the Racing Act 1958 to make sure they are in the best interests of a strong and growing industry.
