Shadow Minister for Roads and Infrastructure, Ryan Smith
Why would any Victorian trust Daniel Andrews to build a $10 billion road, in more than a decade’s time after he promised to not tear up the East West Link contracts, and then did, then promised it would cost Victorians $1, and which then cost them $1.3 billion?
If Daniel Andrews hadn’t torn up the East West Link contract, it would be more than half way finished now. Instead congestion is worsening every day, Victorians are $1.3 billion worse off and they are being told the state’s next major road project won’t come until Melbourne has added another one million people to its population.
Daniel Andrews has wasted 2 years in government being more interested in playing politics and rewarding his mates than making Victoria a better place.
Typical of this, the Government’s North East Link “announcement” yesterday featured no funding, no route details and no shovels in the ground, just nodding Labor MPs and a few graphics.
Only the Liberal Nationals are serious about a plan to manage Victoria’s population growth and build infrastructure so Melbourne isn’t choked and Regional Victoria isn’t left behind.
Daniel Andrews’ credibility is completely shot on road infrastructure and he simply can’t be trusted to deliver the North East Link.
