Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment Bill 2016

Tonight, the Liberal Nationals voted against the Government’s Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment Bill 2016 which was defeated in the Legislative Council.
Daniel Andrews’ bill went too far and was driven by ideology not common sense.
The Liberal Nationals Coalition has always been prepared to consider legitimate and practical reform, but the bill would have produced unintended consequences and Daniel Andrews did not consult broadly enough with the Victorian community.
