Education Standards Slipping

Reports that Australian Year 4 and Year 8 students are slipping backwards in maths and science and have been leapfrogged by students in Kazakhstan, Slovenia and Hungary is more evidence there is something extremely wrong with our education system.

States like Victoria are currently receiving record funding in education with billions of extra dollars and yet standards are going backwards.

How is it possible that with all this extra money our education standards are worse than Kazakhstan, Slovenia and Hungary?

These results confirm the findings in the recent NAPLAN results which showed that standards in states like Victoria are not improving despite record funding.

It’s clear we need to make some very big changes to what our kids are taught.
