Shadow Minister for Industrial Relations, Robert Clark
The Victorian Liberal-Nationals Coalition welcomes the Senate’s passing of legislation to re-establish the Australian Building and Construction Commission (ABCC).
The ABCC will help tackle unlawful industrial action on building sites and stop the widespread coercion and bullying of workers and operators in the construction industry.
Since 2014, Victorians have sadly seen the way re-opened for union thuggery and intimidation in the construction industry, with the Andrews Labor Government abolishing the Victorian Code of Practice for the Building and Construction Industry and repealing move-on laws against unlawful blockades and pickets.
Daniel Andrews’ mates in the building and construction unions have been able to run amok and get away with their illegal activity in Victoria for far too long.
The ABCC will be able to do what Daniel Andrews and Labor refuses to do, and take strong action to restore law and order on building sites in Victoria.
