Shadow Minister for Community Safety, Edward O’Donohue
The Police Minister, Lisa Neville’s statement in Parliament that the Government has invested record funding in crime prevention is factually incorrect.
The former Coalition government allocated $35 million over 4 years or $8.75M per year in Crime prevention funding.
Daniel Andrews has allocated just $5.8 million in 2015/16, $9.8 million this year and $9.6 million for next year.
An average of only $8.4M per year.
With inflation, the difference would be much larger.
Victoria is being gripped by a crime wave and Daniel Andrews and his minister are doing nothing to curb it.
