The Liberal Nationals Coalition will not support the amendments to Victoria’s Births, Deaths and Marriages Act currently before Parliament.

The Liberal Nationals Coalition is always prepared to consider legitimate, practical reform but Daniel Andrews’ proposal goes too far and is driven by ideology not common sense.

The changes would also have a number of unintended consequences and have not been subject to adequate community consultation.
