Shadow Minister for Public Transport, David Hodgett
Tender contracts show that the Andrews Labor Government has wasted $261,800 to hire a meeting room for six weeks for Metro Rail briefings.
This is over $8,000 per work day which is a breathtaking waste of precious taxpayer money.
Metro Rail has been plagued with planning and funding controversies and it has all the hallmarks of Labor’s disastrous Myki and desal plant projects. Labor’s design is currently under attack from the hospital and health department over concerns on the impact of construction on the treatment of patients.
Everyone agrees we need an additional north-south rail link but we need to get the design right so it serves Melbourne for the next century.
