Shadow Minister for Planning, David Davis
The community along the Caulfield to Dandenong railway line, abused and ignored as they have been over Sky Rail by Labor, have today been completely betrayed by the Victorian Greens.
The Victorian Greens today sided with Labor in the Legislative Council to defeat the Opposition’s motion to revoke Labor’s Sky Rail planning amendment GC37.
In doing so the Greens gave their official stamp of approval to Labor’s botched proposal which will now proceed unhindered despite there being no Environmental Effects Statement process, no business case and even no full complete project description for the Caulfield to Dandenong project.
The community today have been slapped in the face by the Greens Party, for whom the environmental and indeed even human health effects of Labor’s monstrous Skyrail proposal, including the wholesale removal of established trees, appears to count for nothing.
Quotes attributable to the Shadow Minister for Planning, David Davis MP:
Sky Rail communities have been cut adrift by both Labor and the Greens – who nevertheless have the cheek to be writing to locals asking for their support on July 2nd.
I urge people concerned about the impact of the Labor/Greens Sky Rail proposal to let them know in the only way they will understand – in the ballot box.
Only the Liberal Party is standing up against Sky Rail, and all our planned and completed level crossing removals in government were done properly with rail under road.
Labor and the Greens are equally responsible for what is the cheapest, quickest and nastiest solution to vital infrastructure challenges that will blight our suburbs for decades to come.
Labor and the Greens stand condemned. They are not worthy of any Victorian’s support.
