Shadow Minister for Planning, David Davis
I am continuing to work with the local residents directly affected by the construction of Sky Rail and who have been offered compensation by the state government and I will continue to advocate for the Waverley Park Action Group to ensure they are offered a solution which is comparably satisfactory.
In 2002 the Bracks Labor Government granted Mirvac a planning permit to develop Waverley Park estate in Mulgrave on the condition the high tension powerlines would be put underground.
Mirvac later sought to be exempted from the requirement to underground the powerlines due to cost.
Nine days before the last state election, Daniel Andrews promised Mulgrave residents he would help make developer Mirvac bury powerlines at the housing estate.
This has been another Daniel Andrews broken promise.
Waverley Park Action Group spokesperson Fiona Annett has been reported to say in response to this situation:
“Daniel Andrews as the Mulgrave representative should feel guilty. He has become the tall poppy and doesn’t care about the electorate.”
Victorians will be righty concerned how many more promises this government can break in the next two years.
Daniel Andrews has mislead and completely sold out his own electorate.
Matthew Guy has regularly spoken out on this issue on behalf of those betrayed residents and the Liberal Nationals Coalition will continue the fight on their behalf.
