Leader of the Opposition, Matthew Guy
Daniel Andrews has been asleep at the wheel in response to the looming Victorian jobs crisis caused by the closure of our car manufacturing industry.
For 18 months Daniel Andrews has failed to plan for this jobs crisis which will see as many as 40,000 Victorian jobs lost.
Now, in panicked response before the federal election, Daniel Andrews and Bill Shorten are announcing a $59 million program in an attempt to look like they are taking action.
This is the same Bill Shorten that once argued in favour of building the East West Link but then later changed his mind for political purposes.
This is the same Daniel Andrews that lost 7,000 jobs and wasted $1.1 billion on tearing up the East West Link contract.
It is also the same Daniel Andrews who before the election committed to building the Bay West container port because it would mean “jobs, jobs and more jobs” for the Geelong region. Two years later Daniel Andrews has scrapped plans for a Bay West container port and stands accused of lying to the people of Geelong about this jobs project.
Daniel Andrews does a lot of talking about jobs for Geelong but he never delivers.
Under Mike Baird, the New South Wales economy is powering ahead with tens of thousands of new full-time jobs while Daniel Andrews can’t get the Victorian economy out of first gear.
