Shadow Minister for Roads, Ryan Smith
Daniel Andrews has been caught out misleading Victorians with a budget typo blunder.
Today, Roads Minister Luke Donnellan appeared before the Public Accounts and Estimates Committee and admitted the Andrews Government was misleading motorists by listing the Kilmore-Wallan Bypass as a “Completed Project” due to a typo.
Mr Donnellan also revealed his ignorance of budget allocations when under questioning he was unable to identify where in the Budget his promised additional $2 billion for road repairs was. He was also unable to identify any substantial project that had benefitted from these promised funds.
Further doubt was cast on the effectiveness of the proposed continuous flow intersection on Hoddle Street when the Minister admitted that it was only a pilot program. Mr Donnellan said he was “cautious of making absolute statements” and could not tell the Committee to what extent, if any, this project would contribute to reducing congestion.
Quotes attributable to Shadow Minister for Roads, Ryan Smith:
“It seems Daniel Andrews’ solution to road congestion is just cuts and hollow promises.”
“Motorists should have no confidence in Daniel Andrews’ ability to get them out of traffic when his budget is just filled with thought bubbles, typos and empty promises.”
