The last decade has seen billions of additional taxpayer dollars injected into our schools but despite this record funding, education standards and outcomes are going backwards.
We need to prepare our children for the jobs of the future and that means making sure our kids have strong literacy and numeracy skills.
The Turnbull Government’s priority on improving education standards in our schools is a welcome change to Daniel Andrews’ focus on social engineering in education.
Throwing money at schools without any regard for student literacy and numeracy outcomes shows a negligent disregard for the future of our children.
After 18 months in office, the Andrews Labor Government has failed to show any interest in improving education standards.
Daniel Andrews and James Merlino seem more interested in playing politics and forcing their values on other people’s children than making sure Victorian schools teach kids to read and write.
Victorian parents will rightly be concerned that schools aren’t getting basic literacy and numeracy right to prepare their children for adulthood despite billions of dollars in extra funding.
