Minister for Planning, David Davis
Today’s announcement that Daniel Andrews will definitely build Sky Rail despite huge community opposition should be a lasting reminder that this Premier cannot be trusted.
At no time before the election did Daniel Andrews tell residents of Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs that he would build a Sky Rail at three storeys high and several kilometres long. The Premier has no mandate to build this cheap and nasty eyesore.
So far over 6,300 locals have signed petitions to Daniel Andrews over his mishandling of this project.
Despite Daniel Andrews’ efforts to paint Sky Rail as a utopian paradise, everyone knows it will be a crime magnet with all sorts of unsavoury and anti-social behaviour around it.
The consultation which has cost taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars has been a total sham and an insult to all locals that gave up their time to try to achieve a better outcome.
This decision by an untrustworthy Daniel Andrews is a travesty.
He has hoodwinked local communities who did not vote for Skyrail.
No environmental impact statement has been undertaken.
No noise or vibration impact studies have been released.
No studies have been released on the human health impact of emitting carcinogenic diesel exhaust fumes 20 metres in the air.
No business case has been made public.
Victorians should remember the next time Daniel Andrews claims something, that he cannot be trusted.
