Australian Bureau of Statistics figures released today show the number of people in full-time jobs in the North West Victoria region has fallen from 51,372 in December 2014 to 38,824 in January 2016.
The unemployment rate in the North West has risen from 5.2 per cent in December 2014 to 6.2 per cent in January 2016.
Comments attributable to Shadow Treasurer Michael O’Brien:
Daniel Andrews came to office promising to create 100,000 full-time jobs in two years but more than a year on and 12,548 full-time jobs have been lost in North West Victoria.
Jobs in the North West have gone backwards since Daniel Andrews became Premier. He is all talk and no action.
Daniel Andrews and his colleagues are too busy fighting amongst themselves rather than focussing on creating jobs in regional Victoria.
