Shadow Minister for Public Transport, David Hodgett
In his second year of government, Daniel Andrews’ management of Victoria’s train system is producing farcical results.
In just one week we’ve seen V/Line chaos as VLocity rail cars are urgently recalled or excluded from entering the city. As a result commuters were stranded at stations unable to cram on to already packed metro services.
This farce was highlighted last night in the colourful tweets of junior Andrews Government Minister and Member for Ivanhoe, Anthony Carbines MP. Mr Carbines found himself stranded with hundreds of other commuters unable to return home from the MCG, taking to twitter to vent his frustration.
Mr Carbines also provided advice to his own government regarding ridesharing service Uber.
The Coalition strongly supports Mr Carbine’s comments calling on the Andrews Government to make a decision regarding ridesharing service Uber. Daniel Andrews has been dragging his heals on this issues for too long; the industry and commuters need certainty.
The spectacle of a junior minister publicly tweeting his own government’s public transport chaos just shows the state the system is in.
