Shadow Treasurer, Michael O’Brien
The only thing that is going up in this budget is taxes and public sector wages. Tax revenue projections are up over $411 million in just six months, and public sector wages have blown-out by $522 million since the May budget.
These figures show that Daniel Andrews and Tim Pallas have slashed $ 5.8 billion from infrastructure investment since the pre-election Budget Update.
Public sector wages increased 8.5% since the Coalition left office and over $522 million since the last Budget.
It’s not just the East West Link the government has canned, $5.8 billion worth of projects and jobs have ground to a halt. Victoria has a jobs crisis with over 10,700 full-time jobs lost in regional Victoria since Daniel Andrews came to office a year ago.
Victorians are being slugged nearly half a billion dollars in tax to pay for a public sector wages blowout.
This is yet more evidence of tax and spend mismanagement while cutting important infrastructure we need.
With debt having increased to $23 billion, Labor’s spending spree puts Victoria’s finances at risk
