Fawkner Park spoiled

Background

The Andrews Government this week admitted in Parliament that Fawkner Park would be the staging ground for the Metro Tunnel.

This could mean millions of tonnes of ‘spoil’ from the tunnel project being dumped in Fawkner Park and heavy equipment could be stationed there for years.

Fawkner Park hosts hundreds of cricket, soccer and tennis games every year that are at risk of massive disruption and relocation.
