Shadow Minister for Jobs, Craig Ondarchie
Official figures show that 14,400 full-time jobs have been lost in regional Victoria since Daniel Andrews came to office.
Australian Bureau of Statistic data released today reveals the number of people in full-time jobs in regional Victoria has fallen from 440,900 in December 2014 to 426,500 in June 2015.
Shadow Minister for Jobs, Craig Ondarchie said the figures make a mockery of Daniel Andrews’ claim that every job is worth fighting for.
“Labor’s promise that their Bay West ports plan would create ‘jobs, jobs and more jobs’ has now been shown as a cruel hoax to the people of Geelong,” Mr Ondarchie said.
“The figures confirm again why Daniel Andrews should support the Coalition plan to relocate the VicRoads head office to Ballarat.
“Daniel Andrews promised to create 100,000 full-time jobs within two years of coming to office across Victoria, but all we have seen are sharp falls in full-time employment.
“Under Daniel Andrews the growth of regional Victoria is on-hold and his promise of new jobs is all talk and no action.”
