AN elected Liberal Nationals government will recognise volunteers’ contribution by implementing a coordinated, whole of government media campaign to celebrate and recognise the volunteers who play such an important role in our communities.

The campaign will run through television, online and print media in the week leading up to and during National Volunteers week held in May every year.

It is estimated more than 1.5 million Victorians participate in volunteering work across a wide range of areas including sporting clubs, charities, environmental groups, healthcare and emergency services.

The campaign will promote respect for volunteers and highlight their important work for the community.

Despite this important work, Daniel Andrews and Labor has run a campaign against our CFA volunteers for the last 4 years, seeing many of our hard working volunteers walk away.

A Liberal Nationals government will always value and respect those who serve others.

Comments Shadow Assistant Minister for Volunteers, Cindy McLeish:

“Volunteers make a vital contribution to the strength of our communities as well as providing a huge economic and social benefit.

“Volunteering is good for everyone. Not only do volunteers help the people around them, but research has proven volunteers are happier and healthier than those who don’t volunteer.

“The Liberal Nationals will help encourage everyone to get out and volunteer and serve the community.”
